Cumbria's Solfest returns for its eighth year in August, with the likes of The Stranglers, Cast and Kate Rusby on the bill.
CUMBRIA, ENGLAND, July 30, 2011 /Travel PR News/ -- Solfest 2011 promises a typically diverse line-up of bands, singer-songwriters and DJs.
Now in its eighth year, the Cumbrian festival is set to take place over the August bank holiday weekend and will offer revellers an abundance of live music spread over six stages.
Headline acts for this year's event include punk legends The Stranglers, reformed Britpop favourites Cast and Irish rock band The Saw Doctors.
Solfest will also feature performances from The Damned, Kate Rusby, Camille O'Sullivan and The Travelling Band.
In the dance area, visitors can look forward to sets from the likes of Plump DJs, Freestylers and Utah Saints.
The House of Joy reggae tent, featuring performances from The Hostiles and Mr Scratch among others, is a new addition to the line-up for 2011.
According to the organisers, Solfest aims to be "a national festival with a local feel", so the emphasis is on people enjoying the event as a whole rather than merely watching individual acts.
Adult tickets for the event are priced at GBP89. Young people aged between 12 and 16 pay GBP62 for the three days, while children can attend for GBP25.
The festival takes place at Tarnside Farm near Aspatria.
