SeaPort Reports Record Passenger Traffic in Arkansas
SeaPort Airlines reports record high passenger traffic in Arkansas for the month of July. Year-over-year traffic has increased nearly 90% for all Arkansas markets combined (Hot Springs, El Dorado, Harrison, and Jonesboro).
PORTLAND, OR, August 04, 2011 /Travel PR News/ -- SeaPort Airlines today announced record passenger traffic during the month of July 2011 in each of the four Arkansas communities served. On a year-over-year basis, traffic in SeaPort's Arkansas markets increased 89%. This ranged from 35% at El Dorado to 244% at Jonesboro.***
When SeaPort initiated service at Harrison, El Dorado, Hot Springs, and Jonesboro in October 2009, the communities had been without scheduled air service since 2007. A combination of convenient schedules, reasonable fares, community involvement, and a Small Community Air Service Development Program grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to market the new service all contributed to the traffic increases.
When service was launched, all markets were served exclusively from Memphis. In April 2010, SeaPort added nonstop service between Harrison and Kansas City, which was followed by nonstop service between Jonesboro and Kansas City in January 2011. During the month of July 2011, SeaPort launched new service from Dallas from Hot Springs, El Dorado, and Harrison.
