The country's best brass bands blow their own trumpet at one of London's finest venues
LONDON, ENGLAND, October 08, 2011 /Travel PR News/ -- On October 15th, 20 brass bands from across the country will descend on the Royal Albert Hall to battle it out for the stunning 'Challenge Trophy' in the final of the National Brass Band Championships.
A culmination of months of gruelling qualifying rounds, the contenders have had to battle through regional heats to be here, with the competition divided into London & Southern Counties, North, Midlands, North West, Yorkshire, West, Scotland and Wales regions.
The finalists were announced back in March, so the groups have had plenty of time to prepare, and will have to be at the top of their game as they perform to around 4,000 people at this most historic London venue.
A panel of esteemed music figures will judge the entrants, including David Read MBE, who has also judged the French, Dutch and Belgian contests, as well as the World Championships.
